About Sonia Dalaklis

Hi, I'm Sonia Dalaklis - children's book author, Kumon educator, and a proud dog mom of Luna, Nala, and Maya.

I didn't set out to write books. I set out to tell the truth about two dogs who taught me everything about friendship, courage, and showing up even when you're scared.

Luna is a silver lab - wise, regal, and endlessly gentle. Nala is my black lab - alert, loyal, and full of heart. Together they inspired a children's book series that parents tell me their kids ask for every single night.

When a dad at my Kumon center asked me to sign a copy for his daughter, he said: "She won't remember her kindergarten teacher - but she will always remember Ms. Sonia"
